随着数据量的指数增长,数据存储正在成为一个重大的社会课题。大多的数字数据是“冷数据”,不需要频繁访问,应该进行相应的存储,避免消耗电力。
富士胶片LTO(线性磁带开放)数据流磁带可满足包括世界上“超大规模”的数据中心在内的许多企业的冷数据存储需求。磁带除了在读写数据时需要供电之外,其它时间不需要供电,可以更低能耗和更低成本地长期存储数据。
我们目前生产的LTO磁带每个磁带盒的存储容量为18TB(未压缩),并已成功开发出可在未来将存储容量提升至576TB的技术*1。我们通过高容量LTO磁带来应对数字数据存储的社会课题,有助于降低数据存储的电力消耗,进而减少二氧化碳排放。
